Professional pruning is the best way to ensure a healthy long life for the trees on your property. Pruning can also remove dangerous and low hanging branches, create better light availability, remove material that could damage your buildings and create attractively shaped trees with good consistent growth. Pruning can be done at any time of the year, but is best done when plants or trees are in active growth or have just finished flowering. At Holland Landscape Management, our trained team use specialist equipment to ensure a neat and efficient job that will ensure the health of your trees. We can remove dead, dying and diseased branches, or high and low branches that are potentially dangerous to people or power lines and buildings. We can also work to restore trees that have been vandalised or damaged by weather or other events. And we can provide expert reduction and thinning and pruning to ensure light and air flow and promote tree health.

Transplanting trees can be a delicate business. Our team at Holland Landscape Management is trained to take into account the most important factors of tree transplanting: root zone moisture level and watering, planting depth and the correct time of year for planting. We can help you transplant containerised or bare root trees and will advise you on good care of your tree once it has been successfully transplanted.

As landscaping professionals, our primary focus is on tree preservation, but sometime trees need to be removed. Diseased or hazardous trees need to be taken out to make your property safe, weaker trees sometimes need to be removed to allow stronger trees to flourish, and building activities often necessitate the removal of trees. Our expert team can remove trees and stumps and will make sure the site is clean and safe.

Using specialist stump grinding equipment, we can successfully and cleanly remove tree stumps from your property. The machine is similar to a chainsaw but has been adapted to enter the soil and deal with other objects found in the ground such as rocks and debris. The stump grinding process also takes care of flaring roots above ground and dirt humps created by tree growth in dense soils.

Forest remnants are a refuge for New Zealand’s native plants and animals and reflect the country’s special landscape character. They promote genetic diversity and provide a context for understanding our flora, fauna and representative soil types.
