Fences provide privacy and can provide noise reduction on your property. They can also be an important consideration when designing the look of your grounds. Our team can design and build fences to accommodate your needs and advise you on the best plants to grow on walls and fences.

Retaining walls prevent soil and rock erosion around buildings, driveways and vertical areas on your property. A well-designed retaining wall will enhance the design of your landscape or lawn areas and can provide a great site to incorporate hanging leafy or flowering plants. Our team is trained in the construction and design of retaining walls and will ensure adequate drainage and proper installation to give you a long-lasting attractive feature.

Efficient irrigation uses less water and gives you better results ensuring your lawn, gardens and hedges are always well-hydrated and looking their best. Our team at Holland Landscape Management can install, maintain and repair your irrigation system, reducing leaks to conserve water (and money) and making sure the system is operating correctly. We will make sure you have a system that works for your property all year round. We offer installation or we can retrofit an existing system. We can also assess the drainage requirements for your property and assist with drainage system installation.

Vertical gardens can provide stunning indoor or outdoor plant displays. Utilising innovative research and technology, vertical gardens require no soil and are watered and fertilised using an automated system. Artificial lighting is usually required for indoor vertical gardens. Because of their light weight, vertical gardens can be set up on any wall, whatever its size. They can also be designed to grow over shaped and freestanding wire fittings. The key to a successful, stunning vertical garden is plant selection based on prevailing climatic conditions. Our team at Holland Landscape Management is trained to create the look you want with the right plants, whether that is a wall of vibrant greenery, or a brightly coloured display of flowers and leaves.

Roof gardens, roof terraces and green roofs are becoming more and more popular in cities around the world. They provide wonderful spaces for living, working and entertaining. New research on urban microclimates, insulation and biodiversity have been brought together to enhance the knowledge we have about creating these unique spaces. They can provide new microclimates for flora and fauna, utilise unused spaces and help counter climate change by providing air purification. Our team can help you design and create an amazing roof garden that will also protect and insulate your roof.

We offer a comprehensive design service that incorporates your specific needs and your budget.
On-site consultation
An initial on-site consultation will help us to understand what you want and to identify any problems and solutions. We will send you a report with an outline of the proposed design process and an estimate of the cost.
Extended consultation
We can also provide an extended consultation to provide you with advice on plants and their placement in the landscape, identifying any possible problems and providing you with an estimate.
Full design service
Our full design service will involve us taking accurate measurements of the site, including identifying plants and structures that are to be retained, assessing neighbouring properties, photographing the area, accessing relevant council information and copies of site plans from you, and drawing a base plan.
At the conceptual design stage we will prepare a rendered concept plan for your approval, and will then create the working drawings. These drawings are important for all those involved with your project including landscape contractors, builders, and local authorities. We can then provide you with an accurate quote.
We are able to undertake the full management of your project, which involves us being on site during the construction phase, and being available on call to assist with design advice for minor changes.
We are experienced in preparing landscape plans for resource consent.
We also provide ongoing consultation if you prefer to have someone else manage the project.

We aim to reduce any negative impact on the environment by providing soil testing, compost applications, organic fertilisers, irrigation systems that reduce water usage, and aerating and top dressing of soil to ensure maximum long-term nutrition. We recycle wherever possible. We believe that healthy sustainable landscapes are healthy environments for people and more and more of our customers agree with us!
